Amps????
Im looking to install two 10" jl audio w6's in my 8. I am looking at the jl 500/1 and the 1000/1 amp but im not sure which one to get. I dont want to overpower the subs but I do want them to play at their full potential. Thanks.

You could always go with the higher wattage amp. If you find it cutting out, due to pushing too much to the woofer, you could dial the gains back to compensate.
What are the subs rated at?
Take care,
Brian

Compare the RMS of the subs to the RMS of the amp. If the RMS of the subs is roughly equivalent to the RMS of the amp, you'll be just fine.
Having more power in the amp is not a bad thing. It will let you run lower gains and that theoretically means you'll have less noise.
You'll have to do some maths and choose a wiring strategy (parallel or series) to figure out the actual RMS of the speakers, since you're planning on running them both off a mono amp.

I imagine you could go with either, though if you really want noise obviously the 1000/1 is more powerful. Before getting a 12w7 I used two Boston 12's with my 1000/1 and they just soaked up the power. I would imagine two 10w6's should do so as well.
