ive done it but you will not keep the lcd working. it feeds off the radio and the circuit board behind the face plate. im still in the process of working on iit.

so there is no way to just extend the factory harness....move the entire radio to the back of the car....(leave the radio in the off position....)and then put my radio back in the dash with the new panel and lose no functions.....
yes....no......maybe....Anyone?

i was going to try and extend the wires but the thing is that the factory radio needs to have power itself. so using the aftermarket harness for the new deck is out of the question. i would have to tap the cd deck into the factory harness but i havent had the time to try that. does this make sense? let me know if i sound confusing.

plus not all the ac features and defoggers will not work. only on and off will work and what ever you had it at it will stay as that. Example i set mine to coldest and to only recirculate air. I can not change it to fresh air, heat, or to defog. i can only turn down how hard its blowing.

Firstly I tried to relocate all the electronics behind the center console, but it didn't work well all the time. Sometimes I could change the settings of the heating unit, sometimes not. Sometimes the LCD was working, sometimes not. I think it was caused by the changed resistance, because of the longered wires, but I'm not sure in it.
At last I leaved everything at their original place, except the cig lighter and box, to get place for the Kenwood Mask headunit. As you see on the pic.
