Anyone Seen the Key for the 05?

I heard they were changing the key so it was less rental-car-ish.
Anyone see the new one?

Nope... But speaking of keys... I like the way VW made theirs where you push the button and it pops out... Save a good deal of space for your pockets if you ask me.

yes, i have. just go to your local dealer and ask for see the 2005 rx-8 key.

it's like a switchblade, it flips out. also, the fob on the 2004 is larger than the 2005 fob, which includes the key. even at $200 I'd strongly consider buying one, if the fob could work with the 04s

Every part of the 05's will work with the 04's

The fob/keys are really two parts that snap together.

Unless some new news has taken place, last I heard the 2005 fob and rx-8s use a different frequency than the 2004, which means the key works, but the remotes don't.

My salesman told me the same thing.....the '05 transmitter would not work with my '04. If that is incorrect, let me know. I like the new key!!!

If Snap-On says it'll work, rest assured it will. He knows people in the know. And I will be buying one as soon as they're available simply as a public service to prove the point. :D
