Audio Help

Hi'ya,

Wasn't sure where to place this topic. Didn't want to put in under the forum's audio section since the problem is occuring in my family's Honda Odyssey (and thank goodness it's not in my RX8). Anyway, the problem is that the CD audio in our minivan is starting to stutter really bad. Got myself a CD Lens cleaner disc since I thought it would help but after running the cleaner disc, the stutter still persists. We bought the Odyssey brand new back in 2003 and by 2005 the OEM CD player that came with it went bad which started with the same stuttering problem. So I decided to change it with a new Kenwood CD/MP3 system. Problem solved. Well fast forward three years later to the present and the problem is starting again - constant audio CD stuttering and I'm pretty sure it will come to a point where the CD player will stop working (just like what happened to the original OEM CD player). I'm not sure what is causing this and I hope some of you in here can shed some light.

I really don't want to spend for a new CD player again for our minivan knowing that this problem will occur again in the future (hey, it's happened twice already). All our audio CDs are prestine, no scratches - and we take care of them really well (so I'm pretty sure it's not being caused by the discs themselves).

I've "googled" this problem for about an hour or so and I couldn't find anything in the net (which surprises the hell out of me). Hopefully some of you car audio experts in here can help. Thanks.

** By the way, I apologize if this is "still" in the wrong section. Mods, please feel free to move it where as you see fit. Graci.

My only suggestion here is to check the unit's mountings. I had a similar problem in my Protege MP3, which was a somewhat hard riding car. The problem did get worse with time- just tell people the needle is skipping.
