This will be my first car audio project so I appreciate any input that I can get. I’ve got a lot of experience with other electronics. The part that I‘ll need help with is the selection of speakers and an amp.

This project is still in the early planning stages and I am looking for any input. I’m tired of 2005 maps for my factory nav and I’m looking to make an upgrade. So here is what I am thinking. I really want to keep the screen in the popup dash. I’m going to try and replace the screen. I am planning on keeping the factory HU (unfortunately I have Bose) for the time being. I’ll be replacing the fronts, rears and the amp in the rear. I don’t have any need/interest in putting in a sub.

So here are the components I am thinking.
Kenwood KOS-L702 6.95” LCD TouchScreen
Kenwood KOS-V500 or KOS-V1000 video controller
Kenwood KNA-G510 Navigation unit

I’m not sure at the moment what I’ll get for the fronts, rears or amp. I’m open to suggestions.

From reading the posts on here I think I may need a loc as well. If that is true I’ll be picking up the LC6i or LC8 depending on what I can find. I am not sure if I’ll need one though as the KOS-V500 and KOS-V1000 both have speaker level inputs and a built in amp and outputs.

If I get ambitious after I do this much I figure I can get the corksport kit and replace my factory HU with a DVD HU. That will allow me to output the video source to the Nav screen through the video controller. This is the only solution I could find that with a new HU would allow me to display navigation to the upper screen and DVD or whatever else on the lower.
