Audio System Setup Question

I am looking into buying a single channel amp that puts out 500 watts. If i hook up 2 subs to that one channel will each speaker recieve 500 watts or do the 2 speakers split up the wattage since there on the some channel?

Yes two identical speakers will split the power in half.

If you have an amp that does "500 Watts into 2 Ohms" then you can hook up two 4 ohm subs to that amp to create a 2 Ohm load. Each speaker will get 250 Watts.

This is the most popular way to do things. Buy a mono sub amp and two 4-ohm subs.

Stick with quality brands, JL Audio, MTX, and even Alpine has some nice very small powerful amps.
