if you put it in the glove box, you cant use the ipod! LAME!!!! run it down under the ashtray and out into the cupholder. win.

when i had it i mounted in the glove box. left lots of extra length coiled in there.

When car was parked ipod was locked up in the glove box. When I was driving and not just listening to a playlist (most are 2+hours of music so not a whole lot of need to even touch the Ipod) I could take the Ipod out and hold it to make any changes not available through the steering wheel or HU controls.

Now I have the corksport kit with an Avic D3 and only touch the Ipod when I need to select a movie to watch.

you drilled a hole in the glove box? i kind of want to do something that doesnt so much hide the unit, and looks like it belongs there. I dont keep my IPod plugged into the car most of the time, and if I do leave it in the car, I put it away. The cupholders get too hot to think realistically about keeping my ipod there. And I like using that spot...

I did no drilling to get my audiolink in the glove compartment... just some basic routing. Mine isn't the typical iPod one either (I loathe ipods). It's an SD, USB (flash drive), and Stereo in Jack that integrates in via the cd changer port. I typically run a 4gb SD card with all my favorite WMAs/MP3s... give me a total of 594 tracks.

If I want to use an antiquated device such as an Ipod, I run it in via the stereo in jack on the audiolink with a 6' stereo cable that I can route outside of the glove to just about anywhere in the car.

Hope this helps. I realize it's a smidge OT, but the OP wasn't specific. Technically my AudioLink has an mp3/wma decoder and cd changer emulator built into it.

yeah i got the one that allows for more than just the ipod too. why limit yourself to just the ipod? How is the sound quality if it isnt ipod specific
