AudioLink vs Dice?

I've had Dice in the last 3 cars so far and they have been good. I like the ability to control my iPod as I want. Is there a bracket for the car where I can mount my iPod, in the rx-8? I got a bracket for my A4 and the ipod clips in there nicely, so I can see what's playing on the iPod screen itself and even search for a song if I want by grabbing the ipod and scrolling through.

So it's a two part question I guess... is AudioLink better or worse than DICE, and is there a bracket that I can buy that would hold my Ipod? Just a simple flat metal plate would work -- I can dremel it to hold the iPod properly.

You will need a clip or u can leave it in the glove box. I have the AudioLink no complaints its cheaper and therpmstore.com has the best customer service.

hmm..you might wanna look into the NEO ipod adapter (www.mp3yourcar.com). They made so many fixes since their old ipod shitty modules. great customer support, they let me upgrade to their new NEO module after the warranty was over and all the bugs are definitely gone.

But i'm able to plug it in, and use all my head unit and steering wheel controls ALSO control the ipod at anytime if i want to pick a certain song on command. No delay unless your ipod delays while playing songs. there's no premade interface which is sweet, just the ipod interface. I keep my ipod in the glove box, but call them and u get to pick if u want the clip adapter or cord adaptor. i chose the cord. i like to hide my ipod. hope this helps.

I used the Audiolink and was pretty happy with it. Customer service was great too. Bought it. Received and installed it. A revision was released. They mailed me the revised IC chip for free no questions/paper work/equipment asked.

How does the audiolink unit work? i.e. do you change songs on your steering wheel? Can you control music on the actual iPhone? Can you play songs on programs like Pandora? Does it remember where you left off in shuffle mode? etc..

you use the ipod to pick the song. steering controls to go to next song. you can control the ipod while pluged in. pandora should work fine, i think. it puts the ipod into standby mode when you turn of the car, so it saves its place from last time.

Awesome NRider, what a great reply! Out of curiosity I read on the DICE product you can't skip songs too quickly through the steering wheel does the audiolink suffer from the same problem?

there is maybe a half second delay between when you push next and it skips to the next song. there is a slight delay but its not really that bad to me. if you want i suppose you could just change songs on the ipod if you want it faster
