Aussie headunit compared with state's headunit help!

hi guys, im from australia and recently stuffed my headunit up and now none of my stereo/ a/c controls work i believe i cracked the stereo chip or something. i looked around my area and could not find a decent priced second hand headunit so i decided to look on ebay in the states. i found a couple but i noticed the a/c controls were different to the aussie ones? i think our one is electronic while some of the ones in america are manual? if i was to purchase one from america and swap out the stereo circuit and mix it with my current a/c control circuit will it still work?

and also would it work if i just switched the whole unit instead?

thanks.

US cars don't have auto climate control(figured this out after using a metra kit in my car which wouldn't work with the HVAC controls). Therefore the majority if not all US oem stereo's won't work.

The 09 GT atleast has auto climate, the older ones don't? my 07 3 had it too, might just have to get the GT vs other trim

Still not working....lol. My climate controls stuck at 23degree's, if the car gets too hot i just turn the aircon on. Middle buttons work fine, just the fan adjustment and climate I can't change.

Planning to get a kanatech faceplate, just for the HVAC adapter. It's like $800 though and i think its the only hvac adapter that works with climate control at the moment.

yea it is! i talked to a guy from audioexpress in QL that shop that u posted on ur other post down below in the AUS/NZ section. and he quoted me the kanatech complete kit $550AU shipped. pretti good for price if you want to go down that path, but i read up from previous users that it doesnt fit as well as the metra kit, but looks alot nicer, perfect piano black match. try msg them again if you want that kit ull prob be able to get this price too. and $190AU extra for the steering wheel control component which i think isnt really worth it....

Yeah, apparantly its hard to fit. You can use the metra face plate, but use the Kanatech HVAC adapter.
