Bad feedback from Subwoofer, need help

Just today, I noticed that everytime I turn off my car my subwoofer would go off like crazy. I didn't have time to check it since I have to go to work, so for now I just discounted the wire from the battery since I need my car to go to work. Anyone know whats going on or what I should do to fix this horrible feedback?

What exactly is happening? Is it popping once when you turn the car/stereo off?

No pop. As soon as I turn off my car and step out the subwoofer just goes off ridiculously loud with bass. It's continous and there is no pop.

what amp are you using, and how is the remote on/off set up..

I don't have any idea what it could be.. but that might give us a clue... and have you messed with or changed ANYTHING in your car in the past week or so? is there any chance some wires could have been bumped or anything like that?

give us everything in case there is a clue..

let me guess, you are using a hi/lo connected to the rear speakers, and the amp doesnt turn off immediately, or has signal sense. what is happening (most likely) is that when you close the door when you are getting out, it creates pressure in the car, which moves the speakers in the rear deck, which sends a signal to the amp, which amplifies it and sends it to the sub(s), which creates pressure in the trunk, which moves the rear deck speakers, which sends a signal to the amp, which amplifies it and sends it to the sub(s), which creates pressure in the trunk, which moves the rear deck speakers, which sends a signal to the amp, which amplifies it and sends it to the sub(s),which creates pressure in the trunk, which moves the rear deck speakers, which sends a signal to the amp, which amplifies it and sends it to the sub(s),which creates pressure in the trunk, which moves the rear deck speakers, which sends a signal to the amp, which amplifies it and sends it to the sub(s)

whoops, happened to me again..........hope this helps, try disconnecting the rca's from the amp and go through your normal routine, if nothing happens, you need to change they way your hi/lo is hooked up. maybe hook it up to the front speaks

Phoneix Gold 600 mono amp. Well today I did repl.ace some of the lighting in my car and Im thinking that could be it, which would be odd. Today I replaced all of the interior bulbs to blue led bulbs and just a few days ago I replaced the parking light bulbs and intake filter. Im thinking I must of hit/bumped some wires while I was doing that.

That's a pretty wicked loop lurch.. I can understand the idea.. and I can't think of any better excuse.. I will, however, suggest a better test

Since if it's just about anything except the amp itself removing the RCA's would stop it. I would suggest that if you opened the trunk (to release the trunk pressure) and the bass doesn't happen then you can be sure it's that.. you can also try to pop the trunk while it's going on and if it stops then you know...

Nice catch Lurch!

haha, ive only been doing car audio for about 10 years. ive seen that situation a couple times in the past. unless you know what to look for, it can be pretty hard to diagnose. good luck with figuring it out. btw wikked, you should look at the new stilletto 100 from sirius. its like the s50, holds up to 100 hours of content, and has live sat radio on the fly, not just in the car or a dock.

also, how is the pdx 1000 and type x in the 8. i have 2 2.150 for my front stage, am planning on getting one more for the rears, and the 1000 and the x for sub

yeah I bought the S50 and then the first person i showed it too told me the S100 was almost out

oh well.. I don't ever take it off the dock.. I would like to have some more storage though.

I'm not upset with the S50. I would never have a radio i couldn't just push a button and save any song I hear again though. it has changed my life.

As for the PDX.. it's only the greatest amp ever made -- here is a pic of how I have it mounted.. there aren't many 100 Watt amps you can mount like this Clicky linky

Yeah it isn't all professional looking and everything but it gets the job done.

as for the sub.. it rocked while it lasted.. I made a rookie mistake and didn't turn on any subsonic filters.. burned it up in about 3 months. so i'm making by with a old type r 10 now and i think i'm gonna get a second type r 10 and go that route instead of doing the 12 again.

I am choosing against the 12 because its expensive, and doesn't hit the really fast bass drums, I love so much, quite like my 10

Defiantly do it though! nothing rocks more than this amp does.. wires in the back, ***** in the front with a cover, its super small and never gets hot.. it gets pretty warm sometimes but it never gets boiling lava hot like some amps.

I'm sorry to fabro for stealing the thread.. if you wanna know more just PM me..

No prob wikked, I don't mind the thread jack. Im just glad someone wrote back and tried to help. Lurch you were right but do you think I should change the hi/lo's to the front still so this won't happen again? I've had my system for over a year now and this was a first for me so Im still debating if I should.

well, its most likely that the amp is not shutting down as soon as you turn the car off. easiest thing would be to make sure that happens.

You could install a switch for the remote line going to the amp.

Wait the auto-sensing does that replace the remote for the amp?

Is it optional to have the remote wire going to that amp?
