I have 2 12's in my trunk and they sound great from inside the car but from the outside of the car they sound like crap. When i crank them up the whole trunk rattles and makes a crappy sound which makes my license plate rattle as well. I have fixed the license plate by putting tape on the back side of it but cant seem to find out how to reduce the trunk rattle.
Any ways to reduce the rattle? Most people on here have been saying that the rattle isnt bad at all but mine is really bad and makes my subs sound like crap.

also put dynamat on the back of your plate and plate frame. I used expanding foam on my last car for "soundproofing" and it worked great. also some this weatherstrip between the rear deck and window if there is a rattle from there.

Let me just get this out there, as it's already starting to get misconstrued.
Dynamat is FAR FROM the end all be all rattle fixer. The only way it prevents rattles is by just adding weight to the offending panels. Or if you happen to install it between the vibrating panels. In the same way, you could use anything. Expanding foam was already mentioned and works great (be careful with that stuff), but a simple wedge of cardboard would be effective as well.
I'm sick and tired of hearing:
"My trunk rattles like crazy"
"Oh man you should get some dynamat."
Dynamat was designed to be a sound deadener. It keeps road noise outside the cabin. It was never designed to be some sort of rattle fixer. Yes, it adds weight to a panel. So, for example, if you add it to your license plate, it may stop the rattling in that area. But odds are it's simply because the metal plate is no longer slapping up against the rear bumper. Don't expect to throw some on your trunk lid and magically stop all the rattles.

I never said dynamat would solve anything other than licence plate rattle. I plainly stated that I personally used expanding foam (I don't remember the type now) for my trunk lid and other areas for soundproofing or rattle proofing if you want to call it that.
