Bass attenuation from factory stereo

Bass attenuation from factory stereo
I would like to get the best quality sound out of the factory stereo without having to lose all of the conviniences offered by the factory stereo (i.e. led display, steering wheel controls) by replacing it with an aftermarket setup. I have installed Memphis Power Reference speakers all the way around, plus a 400W Alpine amp driving two Kicker CVR 10's. The car sounds great at lower volumes, but at high volume the factory radio seems to be attenuating the bass from the music. The change is sudden and very noticeable.
Are there any techniques to "trick" the stereo into playing the music as it was recorded? I don't understand how the head unit is measuring feedback from the speakers. I am sure this was designed to protect the factory speakers from damage. The Memphis speakers are in no risk, and I would like to get more out of them.
