Bose System Issues w/sub
I had a shop install my 10" amplified Bazooka to my factory Bose system. This is the 200 watt model. They tapped in the rear by amp for signal. My problem is that it barely sounds like it playing in the car. I don't know if I was expecting to much but this thing sucks. Is there something hooked up wrong. Should wires be tapped in behing radio.
Thanks,
Rob

I tapped before the Bose amp w/ an AudioControl 6XS. Could be anything w/ the information that you have given. If it is that inaudible, could have a + & - crossed. Figure out exactly how it is hooked up (before or after amp, type of LOC etc.) and we can probably be of more assistance.

I know the polarity is not swapped. They were tapped in after amp by speakers in rear. I'm just concerned where we tapped in if the amp does some funny things with signals or crossing over. I mean it is playing when you open trunk of car but inside the car it really sounds weak.

I have an 8" bazooka in my trunk running through a pioneer amp. Mine sounds weak also. I tapped in before the rear amp and double checked to make sure I had + and - connections right. I was wondering the same thing. When I put the bazooka in my wifes accord its really loud compared to mine....I hate the bose crap.

I have a similar issue with my 2 JL 10w1s. I tapped the signal from the speaker and used a line converter with gain controls. They sound great when looking at them through the open trunk, but they are definitely muted when in the driver's seat. It still sounds good, but it will never be a mind-numbing system heard blocks away.

rob3379 & 1stfen8,
The Bazooka tube is not usually goint to shake the neighbor's house. If all is connected properly, try playing w/ the placement of the tube. The bazooka was designed to play directly at a solid wall and most of the solid sheetmetal in the 8's trunk will be muffled by the carpet panels. Does it sound better w/ the passthrough open? I would even try putting it in the trunk's indention since it is probably the most solid "wall" in there. Be sure that your tube is mounted VERY securely. You should not be able to move it at all, especially w/ the 8".

You'd should be tapping off of the rear speakers anyway with the bose system. The bose amp adds eq to the music. You should get a bose line converter and get the signal right from the headunit, where it is clean and unchanged.

i had an audiobahn 10" self powered tube which was more powerful than the bazooka and it still sounded terrible....until today when i switched it to an alpine v12 mono block amp pushing 10" kicker L5 sub......its rediculously loud now!...those tubes are worthless in comparison

Hey Rob3379, I'm still trying to interpret exactly where they tapped in your set up! When you are looking at it from the rear of the car is the tap to the right or left of the Bose amp? If it is to the left of the Bose amp that's where the amp is going to mess with the signal...from what I understand the right side is unaltered from the head unit. I have 2 - Infinity 1032Ws pushed by an 800W amp! Honestly I will say that the signal might be weak in the 8 because when I first put it in it was hard to tell if I had it hooked up correctly until I turned the gain up on the amp!

It was tapped at rear speakers after amp. It sounds alot better with trunk open standing at rear of car but not in drivers seat. It also sounds no different with passthrough open. This weekend we will try a separate amp with 10" ported. I was just trying to figure if there was a problem before I added more power to compensate for another problem. So you guys suggest a line converter of some sort. Any suggestions on brand?
Thanks,
