Tonight ill take pics. Does anyone know if this is covered under waranty. The clip on the left side close to the driver is chipped and now its wobbly when its shut all the way in the front.

 

My console lid was lop-sided for a while, and it was affecting the lock. The dealership replaced it for me without any fee or hassle. Not the console lid problem as you, but should be close enough...

 

That must be the most flimsy/cheapest part on the car IMO. There's been many an early thread about broken lids, hasn't happened to me but I wouldn't be surprised when it does. It's been replaced under warranty from the threads I've read.

 

I had exactly the same thing in the same spot. You can now flip open your console without pushing it back right? The dealer replaced mine...Seems it's not that uncommon.

 

Ok good. thanks. and yeah when i put it al the way up it shakes left and right and pops right up.

 

Yeah that happened to me too. I just took the clip off. But it is covered under warranty and the dealership should replace it if you ask them too.

 

I totally knocked my lid off when I was reaching to get something in the passenger seat and didn't realize the lid was still up.. :o

I was actually heading to the dealer for an oil change when it broke and I added it to the list of problems I needed looked at and they fixed it for free. It did take 2 days for the lid to come in and I had a rental for 4 days, but hey it was free, can't complain.

 

They gave you a rental car for four days while waiting for the damn lid to come in? Sheesh...mine's broken too, but its way too much trouble to go drop the car off for that. I need a major failure, but I'm just not getting any! :D

i had the same part broken on my 8. the dealer has a part that is like a little plastic sleeve that goes over the broken part. fixed in two minutes.

 

the edge of the clip broke on mine... not as severe as your cases

Maxi don't worry bug the dealer they will fix it, it will then break again, wash rinse repeat

 

What did you do to break it...just so I dont end up doing the same thing myself.

 

I used it! It really doesn't take much.
