Broken Visor
#52
RX8by is right -- listen for the popping sound. That means breakage is imminent. My driver's side shade was replaced under warranty. No problems with passenger side one yet. My driver's side visor had been ordered, but the old one didn't completely break apart until I was driving home one night and it dropped in front of the windshield during rush hour. I couldn't steer, shift, and hold it out of the way, so I had to tear it loose. No damage, fortunately, except the solderless connection on the wire was torn off.

same thing happened to me at night...the boyfriend bought a window sunvisor..dont' know what else u'd call it...it was at night outside of the store when i pulled the sunvisor down to see if the window sunvisor fit correctly..i heard a crack...i told him that didn't sound so good..but i didn't look to notice it was cracked..next morning while driving to work..i kept hitting my head on the sunvisor..and when i pulled it down and looked at it..it was completely cracked... i took it to mazda..and of course it was on backorder..they called me a couple days later...*not even a week* to tell me to come in..the part was in..so i go in tuesday to get it fixed

All right, now this ticks me off a little. My passenger side visor broke yesterday. I had the drivers side replaced about a month or two ago. I know it will be covered under warranty, but come on, it's a hassle to have to take it in again. What makes this even worse is I think that the service departments here in St. Louis are all on strike.

More than $100.00!! Mine is on order now. My driver's side just seperated and the inside was totalled. It is a cheap piece of glued plastic. I use it to hold my sunshade everyday as I am in Fla and it is hot!! Hopefully, it does not break again, but I have my doubts.

Yup, my driver side visor broke on me last month while I was on a road trip for a week. Had to get a paperclip and a rubber band to hold up out of the way just so I could drive. Took it to the dealer for replacement and waited 3 weeks before they got the part in. Day after I dropped it off, I was called by the service department saying they ordered the wrong visor, but promised it would be ready the next day. Thankfully (for both of us) it was. I am still a bit confused as to why it took 3 weeks to get the first part in, but only one day to get the right part in after they made their mistake and had to reorder another part. They had no ready answer.

Mine was broken when I bought it...no problems getting it replaced...took about a week for the part to come in. Sounds like they should come up with a better option, write a service bulletin, and do a recall since there are so many of us who have the same problem.
