Burnt Cds Problem ?

i have a normal 6 cd changer on my 8. but it doesnt play any of my burnt cds .. it plays sometimes but keeps skipping .. it just depends on my cars mood .. i tried many solutions like burning at low speed?, good quality cd ? etc.

can someone who can play normally tell me how do you do it ?

which software to burn ?
at what speed ?
what kind of cd (cd-r , +r?)
which format ? (cda or wav)
any specific kind of cd ?

i have the regular cd player and have no trouble playing any cd's. Are you closing the cd before you take it to your car and try to play it?

Are you sure you're burning audio CDs? You might've burnt it in data.

This happened in my old car, I had a G35, when I burnt CDs with Data Text in it, it wouldn't play. (Like when you play the CD and the display show what song is playing) Try to burn an audio CD without the Data Text.

Burn your CD's at the lowest write speed you can. I've had this problem but only with CD's burned at really high speeds, like above 16x. Those burned at 56x rarely run on anything without some songs being unplayable on any CD player.

I now burn at 8x and no longer have any skip or readability problems at all.

Most burning programs will allow you to adjust the write speed.

What software are you using?

Have you tried on any other CD players?

Burn slow. Use quality media. Always burn as audio disc vice Data or MP3 disc. (ie 80 Minutes on disc versus 700MB on disc)

I use Nero 7 Ultra Edition. Have yet to have a single read issue in my 8.

I've had trouble with maybe 1% of burnt CDs

Use a good (modern) burner and brand name disks.

Think the biggest thing you need to do is to take some of those burnt discs and try in another player. If you are burning below 8x and using good quality discs that should be more than enough. As someone said, you need to check that you are formatting correctly, using a readable format(no data) and closing the discs properly. If you want more help, you're gonna have to tell us what program you are using and what format you are trying to write. We don't know how experienced you are doing this.

My RX doesnt like to let me skip songs on a burnt CD. If I do that, it just stops playing.

I had no problem with my 6-disc player. I use CD-R Memorex and Nero start smart essential. I would say try to use a cd cleaner.

If the skippy problem still exists, talk to your dealer. They will change it for you for free if you are still in warranty.

I did mine couple months ago, is fine now.

I have the same problem sometimes, I never tried a lower speed because when I keep popin in the disc it just plays sometimes. Usually it only happens when I put the burn disc on the first time, after that it plays all the time. I always thought it was strange myself.

maybe your CD's are just too scratched for the player to read it...

very strange.
I've used Memorex CD's burned with Nero and they've always worked; both with my single disc and now with the single disc mp3 unit.

do the discs play in anything else other then your computer?
