Busted a clip when installing Audiolink
When attempting to unsnap the panel that surrounds the stick shift to install my iPod Audiolink connection, the rear passenger side clip snapped off. (right over top of the little "pass-through" hole) I wasn't happy about it, but lived with it. But now it's bugging me because that corner of that panel sticks up about 1/16" and slightly blocks the console lid when closing. I have to either use a little force to close the console lid, or hold down that corner and then slide the lid normally.
Anyway, I was looking at OnlineMazdaParts and I can only find that panel packaged with all the stick shift trim rings and mounting hardware.

Hopefully that link worked. If you'll note #3 circles all those parts. Plus it's $152. Anyone know if I can buy just that top piece? ..... Or if anyone has an extra lying around...lol

I broke mine when installing my AFE short shifter. It lays flush even when broken. Make sure that when you broke it no piece of it is wedged out of place... that could be what's holding it up by the 1/16th.

Most people end up braking that clip. I'm actually quite glad that I broke mine - it makes it much easier to take that panel off.
Like laythor said, check to make sure nothing is holding the panel up - it should lay flat. Unless you bent it somehow when you pulled it off.
