Can I confirm that my motherboard is shot?
ok so i have posted about my radio before...here's the deal
cd player works...radio works...display doesnt work...none of the controls on the radio work..only on the steering wheel..only button on the entire radio that works is the cd eject button and the heater/ac is stuck on outside air and hot temp...nothing lights up and the only climate control *** that works is the fan control...i have a test light...is there anyway i can test the connectors in the car or on the radio/board itself to confirm that its fried????

it sounds like what might be happening is that the "face" of the HeadUnit is slightly disconnected from the rest of it...
It's actually a pretty common problem, i can think of at least 5 times this has happened off the top of my head.
I don't think its the motherboard because the steering wheel controls work.
you should pull the whole unit out, take the face off, clean the connectors and gently put it back together and see if that helps. If not then take it to mazda and should be able to fix it under warrenty

well unfortunately for me...i'm not under warrenty...i'm at 73,000 miles...running strong...but i fixed it...it wasn't connected very well...i kinda had to take a flat head and "pry" the motherboard back to the radio itself...all is well now!
