TN Can I put a CarPuter Screen in the corksport kit?

As you know, I have the corksport kit with the Pioneer AVIC Z3 headunit - and I'm trying to find a replacement.. well I saw this thread on the for sale section

FS: CarPC Setup $700 OBO

and he has this touchscreen in the Navi Housing -
LinITX 7" Widescreen TRANSFLECTIVE VGA/Composite with Touchscreen
PartNo: LIN70ATPC-SA

I was wondering if I could take that screen and put it in my corksport kit in my dash instead of getting a navi housing...

if not, are there any screens that WILL go into my dash? cuz I'm starting to think a car PC is the only way to get what I really want out of a headunit...

Standard double din size = 7.086614173 x 3.937007874 inches or (180 x 100 mm)

Screen deminsions = 179W x 128H x 27D mm

So no is your answer. The buttons at the bottom on the monitor are screwing you. And even if it would fit, you'd have some ingenuity invested in securing it into place.

you can relocate the buttons on the bottom.. all you'd need to do is transplant the lcd itself.. be imaginative.

But then is the screen exactly double-din size? Very doubtful. So now you need something to, not only take up the extra empty space in the double-din hole, but hold this delicate 1/4" thick LCD screen securely in place.

End result... not worth your time. I mean you can buy the setup and purchase a different screen that's designed to be mounted in double-din locations. But then you're re-selling the navi hood and screen... might as well just start from scratch and build your PC from the ground up. Get what I'm saying?

he's not selling the navi hood to begin with - just the screen.. and yeah I'm still considering building my own.. i REALLY like the apple puter thread on here I just have literally no experience when it comes to car computers and I don't really know where to start...

I'm sure you know the site.... most anyone in our field does..... but just in case.... www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/

http://store.mp3car.com/Double_Din_B..._p/dsh-016.htm

matched with

http://cgi.ebay.com/LILLIPUT-7-629GL...lenotsupported

I also noticed there is someone who posted above you who wants just the screen. Maybe you can work out a deal.
