If you are asking if the MP3 player can take DVD+R, DVD-R or DVD+RW. The answer is no.

It will be good if it did. Since my collection of songs are about 7Gig and only 2 disc. I downloaded 3Gig of Chinese songs last year :p

Well if you put a DVD+R into a CD driver of course it will not work.

But if you put the DVD+R into sat nav then I am not sure.

The MP3 can accept CD+R and CD+RW though.

ditto and as for the NAV dvd drive...DO NOT put a different CD or DVD in it...in fact it is not using standard DVD format either...it was burnt backwards as a security measure...putting it into your home PC will not work and could damage the disc

NAV DVD-ROM does NAV only...the only way for the nav screen to do other things is hacking into the RGBS wires...check my signature for that, click on link

if you are using the Mazda MP3 drive (optional add-on) then you simply burn all the MP3 data files as a DATA CD, make sure you have ID tags correct as they will be displayed on the LCD display

The text button you can dial left and right. DISP button to change b/n the title, artist name and album name. They display 13 characters only. Only English characters :o

I wonder if the Japanese have Japanese displaying units

ID tag V2.3 will be the best.

I read somewhere that the mp3 player only shows ID tags v1.0 and v1.1.

There are many ID tag labeller can do the conversion from ID v1 to v2 and vice versa.

Funny. Coz I change all my song's v2.3 to Unicode - because I want to display Chinese in iPod. When I burn the CDRW with the new title and put it to the MP3. I went from "NO TITLE" when there is a chinese character to displaying "????". And the only thing that I change is the v2 tag.

Most MP3 you can edit and select to display v1 and v2. I urge you to edit all your songs to that.

it is taka-ha-shi or simply taka. Takashi is first name of a guy 貴司 or 貴之. Takahashi is a surname 高橋。Anyway I don't know why I do this. Call me taka (coz I am too tall and too handsome for an Asian dude).

Anyway. I am using a free ware that is made by a chinese guy mainly is to change Big 5 to Unicode - good for me you see. Can rip (or purchase ) chinese music and convert to useful tag for iPod.

Don't worry it is written in English, so anyone can use it without problem.

Here is the link and click on the download after a section of chinese (which explain the usefulness of the program or translate as "blah blah blah" )

You are Welcome... did you end up using CDs?!

You might want to go to your local computer shop to search some MP3 maker (the older version will go cheap). They have internet bank of data that can detect what album you have got and download the titles!!!!!!
