car shows -> battery

just curious... say you go to a car show and you're showing off your neons/playing music is there anything you guys do to prevent it from killing your battery sicne your car is parked and not driving?

it depends on the rules of the show, if its an indoor show, many will require you to have below a 1/4 tank of gas, or some similar low level, and will also not allow you to run your motor, both for safety reasons.

Also many car shows make you disconect your battery, again for safety.

Ask the organizer, some shows will allow you to 'rent' power for a small fee, and connect you to a 12v transfomer, so you can run all your stereo/tv/lights from their power grid.

Exactly ^^^^^

Outdoor = Idle or, if available, external power source.

Indoor = external 12v converter

example i mean lol.. like my school is holding an auto show for a fund raiser.. and i was thinking how would one go about leaving their music on and stuff... not like a REAL car show where it gets all technical lol but thanks! good for my curiousity!

First will you have the optio to run an extension cord to your car?

If not, you have to let it idle.

I use a power inverter. AC->DC 50Amps. I have a quick connect terminal under by front bumper and in my trunk. This is how I provide my power for shows.

Get a car charger. Its something you can use when you're not doing shows, like jumpstarting someone or charging batteries.
