I recently bought a used RX-8, and the salesman told me it had a CD changer. Personally, I don't really care one way or the other whether it has one or not. However, I am trying to figure out if I actually do have a CD changer or not. I don't have a manual either.

It has a "load" button, which I assume is supposed to load a CD to a cetain slot. From browsing a Miata manual, it looks like the non-CD changers don't have a load button. However, when I hold the button down, I get no beep or anything.

Can someone tell me whether the CD players all have the load button?

everyone has the load button, sorry but you got duped...(probably the dealer had no idea...my dealer didn't even know there was a navigation unit in it!!!!!!!!!!!)

you might as well go back and request they pay to have one installed, then say well how about a compromise...the MP3 unit instead

if they wont try to return the car then they will gladly pay for one

even if they wont pay...as a bargaining chip make them pay for the unit you install it, it is really easy to do we will all help you

 

Thanks. I agree it isn't obvious. In fact, it is probably the same unit, with a DIP switch somewhere telling it not to act like a CD changer.

The reason I don't care about the CD changer is that I use my iPod. I don't want to mess with any CDs.

Is there any kind of accessible audio input? That would be really sweet.

 

common many sales people say it has the Changer when it does not .. read your Sales invoice i bet it does not say 6 disk changer..

 

funny that thew should answer since he sells audio inputs for our HU...and you can even control your ipod from the steering wheel if you add a device to it
