Cell phone Holder idea ... Maybe

Cell phone Holder idea ... Maybe
I have been looking a sophisticated solution for a cell phone holder, and wireless setup. In the interim I pick up this, which is a charger, loud speaker, and holder all in one. I know this is a Lo Tech solution but after using it for a couple of weeks it starting to grow on me.
What do you think I took some pix. Let me know if you have a better working solution.

to be honest, and please don't take offense, that looks horrible...i would suggest getting an adapter for your cigarette lighter...the ones that i've seen plugs into your cigarette lighter with a small, thin wire that attaches to another power outlet...it's basically an extension cord...with this setup, you wouldn't have to keep the cigarette compartment open like that and you can hide the thin wire perhaps along the steering column and onto the left side...the only problem i see with your setup, and this is a personal esthetic preferance, is the fact that you have that compartment open at all times and it looks WAY too busy in there...if you can get this extension cord, you can just route the wire elsewhere less noticeable
right now that accessory sticks out like a sore thumb

The problem is on the Plus side is it is a charger and a holder. Currently if you need to speed dail someone with the manual trans it is hard. Also looking up phone number in the phone book easy to do.
Damn I just cannot find something that will hold, charge, and handle hands free communications. Do you have a recommendation. Thanks!!

Thanks I will look into it. I would be great if I could get both my XM radio and Phone using on FM modulation system. Hmmm...

Well, it's an idea. But where do I plug in my Escort 8500? I guess I could do one of those multi plud things. But then again, I really don't need to talk on the phone when I'm driving. BTW, what did you do before you had a cell phone? Oops, probably too young to have never not had one! Just joking, but it is another driving distraction as far as I'm concerned. I have one too, but if necessary, I'll just pull over or let them leave a message.

can someone tells me if strong magnet will affect cell phones?
i am not talking about radio shack magnet, but the genuine rare earth magnets...
reason being, i want to glue a magnet, say something small, that holds up to 20 lbs behind the dash
the cut a thin metal strip and put it behind the battery, inside the cover
now when you get in the car, toss the phone across the dash and voila, it sticks...
how cool is that IFF the magnet doesn't kill the phone
