Center console lights not dimming

Hey there rx8club team,

I have a 04 GT, and recently swapped out my steering wheel control buttons for something from a Shinka. Reinstalled everything and the steering wheel controls work, but now the night lighting on the center consoles does not dim with my gauge cluster. Any ideas on how to fix?

Have you moved the dimmer switch next to the DSC button? The highest brightness setting is to never dim or switch to red.

Yep, I've adjusted it up and down the range. Gauge will switch over and dim but not the center stack. I might just try to unplug and replug the connections and hope for the best, it's an intermittent issue from me adjusting the steering wheel to fit closest to stock angle.

Hi, Do you mean the stereo and heater/AC backing lights? If yes then these are fed via the stereo head, so if you had the stereo out could be the stereo connector. Or might be the front panels connection to the head. Does the stereo/heater main display still dim? This is also feed from the stereo but is not the same feed as the backing lites. Did you have battery disconnected while you swapped your control buttons?
