I am thinking it would be very dificult to change out your stereo due the fact that the A/C controls are integrated. Is there any way of salvaging these parts from the stock unit and then putting in anything you want for a stereo.. I have searched and all I see is how hard it would be. Has anyone actualy done it, and kept the display working?

We were discussing that in a different thread. I would rebuild the faceplate which wouldn't be that hard. I would tap into the wiring for power and speaker outputs for a new radio but would leave the factory radio hooked up so the display worked for the a/c. The stock radio would just be tucked in the dash somewhere out of sight. Shouldn't be that hard. Just a little time.

I can buy that... The only thing left would be finding the wiring for the steering wheel controls and modding them to work with the new gear. Someone posted somewhere that there is a kit that could use the stock controls and an ir box to control the new setup.
