climate control cables are not coming out

I bought xcarlink and installing now.
My 8 never been disassembled so it was SO hard to disassemble them, they were too tight. Finally I succeed to pull out the radio unit. And then, I spent more than an hour for trying to unplug the 2 climate control cables.

Like the attached picture, there is not much space to put my hand into it. Also it is dark in there, it is hard to see the cables.

To people who have done this job, give me some tips please. Does Cable have a button that releases the cable from the connector? They are driving me crazy.

i don't see a pic

i do remember that being crazy pain in the ***

i think there is definitely a latch thingy that you have to push down/in while pulling, like most of the connectors have. maybe i used a thing screwdriver to put pressure on that part while pulling. i don't remember but if you can get a pic up it might help

**** man, that sucks. it's been a while, but it definitely was a pain in the ***. i remember getting just enough slack in the wires to angle it down some. i think my gf held a flash light while i kept trying to get it. small needle nose pliers might help. i have small hands, but i still remember it hard to pinch down on the release latch and pull at the same time.

Fxck I kept trying to unplug that freaking cable but I haven't made it. I give up for today. It is already midnight I spent whole day today... it left a lot of scratches on my hands..

lol i dunno why those are so damn hard out of all them either. there's no magic trick. i don't recommend pliers. you can't really get at a good enough angle to use them, you don't have enough feel, and you'll end up chewing up the plug. do it by hand.

take a few minutes to feel around there and make certain you're pressing on the tab at the right spot. you just got to really really squeeze the hell out of it and pull. wiggle a little side to side helps. just do it til it hurts!! you'll get it eventually.
