ive had the kit for quite awhile...over a year....HVAC works fine..

OK I'm sorry if I brought thid thread off topic, I thought it had some relevance to the topic since corksport was mentioned many times so I simply wanted to know if anyone else had that problem. Keep in mind I only registered not too long ago so I don't know everything that is on this forum..for the sake of going back on topic..

Has a release date been officially confirmed? I know installer.com is getting them first but have they mentioned when they would be in stock? and will there be a GB?

Metra Kit

Hey everyone,

Just purchase my first RX8 an 04 6 spd with 44k on it. Owned by a 62 college professor. So proud to be part of the group.

Anyway being a former after market manager for a Ford Dealership. As well as I have managed and done installations at several car stereo shops. I called my supplier for the high gloss version of the kit and he is saying 4 to 6 weeks.

The company he works for is out of the Miami area and is one of the largest suppliers for Metra and Pioneer products in the southeastern US. So figure it is going to be the end of October to mid November, when the kit comes out.

I will post a soon as he gets them in and give prices for them as well.

That is until we hit mid november, then the estimate will be late Jan/mid Feb.

At sevenstock I talked to corksport and they have no plans to lower the cost of their kit. The price is set by Kanatech and will likely not change.

at this point, i have everything ready to install, but im just lacking the metra kit, i am kind of leaning towards buying a corksport kit due to the fact that it seems like the metra one is forcing me to go for a corksport one =.=...nebody feel the same way? very excited at first but then now im getting kind of annoyed instead that everything seems so unconfirmed...

Interesting the it says ships within 24 to 48 hours. lol I think we all know that's not happening. So please.... don't anyone start asking "You think we can get it from there?" "I'm going to email them and ask."

Rx8-13b, if you are running all aftermarket speakers with an aftermarket amp, you will not need the Bose adapter. But I would hop on eBay and grab the PAC steering wheel control adapter for your brand headunit.

What's wrong with that site? Isn't that the store from the12volt.com? I googled rx8 metra and that came up along with another link from them saying it was released. I did however email them to confirm, so I'm waiting on a response.

hey guys thanks for the responses regarding the bose adapter =D, i emailed installer.com and 12vtoolbox.com also asking about the kit, neither site replied me, it's been a week already, i think its mayb due to the whole rx8 forum is emailing them and asking haha it's a product we must have!!!

firebirdude- i searched up the PAC steering wheel control on ebay, seems like a good deal, but it didn't mention anything about Pioneer HU's, i got the AVH - P4000dvd, do u know if it is compatible with that one?? thanks a bunch

* crosses fingers * hope metra will start shipping the damn thingg

The Pac SWI-PS is compatible with all Pioneer Avics, however I'm not sure about every other Pioneer unit. You'd have to check the back of the unit and see if theres a jack for it, it will look like a headphone jack The steering wheel control wire is on the HU plug, I believe it's a white wire.

hey guys, just got an email from metra

" Hello Ken,

We have had some unfortunate production delays with the RX8 Kit. This kit is a very detailed item and we must make sure it is correct in all aspects before releasing to the market.

With that in mind, no, the 99-7510G has not shipped yet. Our current ETA is 3-4 more weeks but we will continue to expedite our processes as much as possible "

man this feels kinda hopeless imo.....
