do you mean the climate control? my understanding is this will work with anything out right now, there's another part to this kit that I can't mention in detail that will prevent any future incompatibility issues as well. Man I wish I could show you guys the list of stuff I saw, it's killing me keeping it all to myself, but it will be worth it when this is finally in stores.

Yep I mean the auto climate control system.
Over here in OZ all our cars have the auto climate control system, I know with Cork Sport it is an extra.

I am very interested in what they have to offer.

Here's kind of a side question:

Is there any chance of a Group Buy when this is done? I'm not necessarily looking for a discount by any means. My fear is that when this is released, I'll have to wait another 3 months for suppliers to get them or even know they exist. Here in AZ, the easiest place to find a Metra kit is Fry's Electronics, which uaually carries every kit for every car since 1980. But things seem to come slowly to AZ, and I don't wanna have to look at pics of everybody else's on here before I have a chance to get my nav installed. LOL If we had a group buy, I could get it online rather than waiting until a local register jockey realizes Metra has a new kit for the 8 available.

fingers crossed!!!

The thought had crossed my mind, I may be able to set something up with the shop who does all my work, or maybe Metra directly (though I doubt that). I don't want to go to crazy on group buy talk or anything just yet, we're still a ways off from when this thing releases for sale to the public so maybe once it's out I can work out something with the mods/shop/etc/etc. and save us all some hassle and a couple of bucks to boot.

I don't know about where you come from, but where I come from, when someone offers advice and gets **** on for it, you don't just sit there and take it. And when someone tells you to shoot yourself? If half the crap in this thread got said to my face, these guys would have been on the ground out cold. Period, no discussion no smack.

The dash itself shouldn't matter regarding that. Since it doesn't require any rewiring it should just mean that as long as you get a receiver capable of accepting inputs from the wheel it should be able to wired to run that way... I think.

There's not a unit made today that will retain factory steering wheel controls without additional parts.

haha. I've had an aftermarket radio installed in the car since '04 (in the glovebox) I totally forgot about the steering wheel controls.
I'm w/ you, a metra kit with steering wheel controls would be awesome.

Half dozen or so but the key is 'my time'. Its been a while since I played with car stereos. Like ordering one of the first head units available in Crutchfield with a remote control kinda long time.

No steering wheel controls back then. Steering wheels were made to steer....

Anyway the response was to a poster asking if they were retaining steering wheel controls so I was just noting that the controls have nothing to do with the dash kit.

There will most likely be solution from PAC for integrating steering wheel controls

pretty safe bet that will be the one and only thing this kit won't support, as some of us know and a few folks have mentioned, it's totally unrelated to the radio so to integrate something like that you'd have to go PAC or something similar. Maybe they'll offer their own version (like corksport) but I doubt it, just wouldn't be cost effective when there are so many products out there (and good ones at that) that already do the job. I personally don't miss mine, but every now and then I find myself tapping them

Sorry Davey, I can't really understand what you're on about... Its pretty much gibberish. Anyway, goodluck with that sweet looking deck!

If any of you guys are worried about steering wheel controls, dont be. You can always use the PAC-SWI module to contol the steering wheel controls.

Works great.
