Cool Aftermarket HUD Gauge

Check this HUD unit from Defi.

http://www.defi-shop.com/images/concept.pdf

In addition to Speed and Tach there is oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, water pressure, exhaust temp, etc...

Wonder how much it is and how easy it is to install

Looks like it puts out a reflected image, which would be lost if you wear polarized sunglasses....if you can see it in daylight at all.....

let's take it one step further and do a HUD on a pair of glasses!!!

F1 is going to have it soo, why not after market!!!

the can do RF/IR connection

a pair of normal looking glasses/sunglasses with or without perscription.

then the HUD is projected or display in the lower corner...

one thing abotu current HUD is you have to put a opaque film on the projection for the HUD to be seen during the day.

it's good to see aftermarket willing to spend money tho

I think it looks lame, especially when the car's speedo and tach are integrated with the design and already looks great.

It's not a matter of adding gauges that you don't have, it's a matter of displaying them in a manner that's easier to see. If you haven't lived with a well integrated HUD unit, you need to go test drive one for a couple of days before considering it useless.

Just like the digital speedo, it might take some people a little while to get used to using it, but once you do, you will miss it.

The hard part is getting it well installed so that it doesn't stick out (like leaving your radar detector on the windshield, inviting bad elements to break in), and so that you can see it well.

I think they already have it? I haven't watched F1 for so long because I don't have digital. But, I do remember Michael Shumacher has it because he had that big bulge on the side of his helmet below the visor.
