wow this has to be the longest thread I have ever sat and read straight through. Are there any other alternatives in the process other than corksport?

Without any A/C control interface, the factory headunit must remain in the car. SO you can extend all the factory wiring and move the headunit to the trunk. Mount it in there somewhere. (It HAS been done before)

yes there are alternatives, corksport (kanatech makes the kit actually, corksport is just the only one who sells it) is by far the simplest route to go though.

Yeah I have been looking into buying the corksport but I want to somehow figure out a way to keep the clock adjustment and the amb buttons. I might just buy the corksport and get into some custom fabricating to keep those buttons. Can't wait to get into that wiring diagram ugh

the clock doesn't work.. but your new HU should have a clock on it.. and the Amb DOES work with the corksport...

we're doing that very thing to mine right now, I'm minus the corksport and have full functionality of everything, granted this is a huge pain in the *** to do. We're contemplating where to put the switches for those 2 items and I can't wait to share the finished project with everyone.

no.

There is a "steering wheel controls kit" you can buy with the corksport but its crap..
i just bought an aftermarket steering wheel control thing for my pioneer - worked out pretty good because i like to be able to control my phone and stuff with it too
