Creative Zen Touch + Remote installed

I recently bought a Creative Labs Zen Touch 40gb as a replacement for my dearly departed RCA Lyra... and this thing is sweet. I briefly considered going the iPod route, but now am very glad I didn't. The ZT was $100 less, has a similar touch pad idea, but vertical vs. going in circles. I also wanted something that could do MS DRM format of WMA for paid music from all the various non-apple music stores.

One of the things that I really liked was it had a remote control with display offered as an option- something I always wanted to do with my Lyra, but they never made anything for it. I wanted to have a remote installed in the ashtray area so that I didn't have have my center console open (where I store my Zen), and I could easily see what song was playing easily.

So I modded my ashtray with a fabricated mount and ran the cables behind everything for a clean install, and so the ashtray door could be shut and everything look stock from outside. Here are a few pics of the remote installed, and the Zen unit:

Yeah- the cupholders keep it warm in the winter :D

I forgot to mention the best part of the Zen Touch (compared to the iPOD)- the battery lasts over 24 hours!
