It's a joke... I've been reading this thread for months and months now, just for the right to say that I was one of the first.
Oh yea, just in case.... sign me up <again>.

If you purchase the Basic ($50) then upgrade to the Advanced ($75), are you charged the difference? Or would you have to purchase a new unit?
Thanks! Keep up the good work!

Overload: Why isn't it possible to buy one of your modules even if i want it without the missing connector????
btw: i found a "AUX-IN Adaptor for BOSE Radio-Headunits"... 150$ and it connects as a CD-Changer to the HeadUnit. It has RCA input-Jacks.
I don't believe that Overload is ever going to ship just one of his modules...

I can't believe I'm being sucked back into this thread... I just can't believe it. It's like that Godfather movie... just when I thought I was finally out, they pull back in!
The issue for me at this time is whether to buy the IPOD, now that the earphone jack on my IPAQ (PocketPC device) just broke. I assume that the IPAQ was never going to be controllable through the steering column absent some ugly extra wiring, and finding the right PocketPC software, which I'm not up to doing myself. But if the AUXMOD isn't going to ship, or doesn't work well, or won't be available for another 12 months... it's very confusing. Plus, I really hate having to shuttle everything through ITunes, not having an SD expansion slot and not being able to change the battery easily on the IPOD, even if everyone loves the IPOD and ITunes, but I digress.
Also, another issue for me revolves around satellite radio. Is AUXMOD a good solution for those of us who want "wired" SIRIUS radio in a 2004 RX8? I need someone to talk S-L-O-W-L-Y if he or she is willing to tackle my question. (I'm not really a techie, I just pretend on occassion.) Can I just buy a "Roadie" or whatever SIRIUS is calling its latest radio and plug it into the AUXMOD?

@Krass:
www.mini-car-pc.de --> "Produkte", at the bottom
i'm in contact with the dealer. he said that this module will work in the rx.8, but i don't beleive him till i get a proofe.
He sais that it's a replacement for the cd-changer. but i'm not willig to take out my mp3-player. but i think the cd changer and the tape-module have the same connector, so it should work also on the second expansion slot of the radio (thats what i like to clear up with the dealer)
does anyone know what exact type of BOSE radio unit we have? the dealer mentionet "symphony II" or something like that...

How it will connect?
I tried to search the thread but I couldn't find an exact answer to my question:
What will be required to hook this up. Does the module need power, or will it just be inline on the connecton between the radio and IPOD in my case?
i.e What cables will I need from the head unit to the Auxmod, and the Auxmod to the IPod?
And from what I understand the first model will not control the IPOD from the steering wheel controls? That is later? Thanks! Keep up the good work!

there is a seperate port for an external cd changer...the factory 6 disk does not use it
I also saw a Ipod-Adapter for the Radio (PIE/DENSION - iceLink iPodCarKit). But some mentioned that this Adapter only works with some Versions of the RX-8 Radio.

Dead?
So is it safe to assume that this device is never going to be available? I've been waiting for at least a year..... At this point, it sounds easier to just replace the head unit!

Sorry to be a pain, but does anyone know any of the answers to my questions from before?
I am thinking of buying the Dension Aux Out Ipod Dock that this review talks about
http://www.gadgetwhore.com/audio/dension_icelink-v1_1.html ,and it will have RCA's as the output.
My question is, how will Overloads Aux-Mod control the Ipod? What connection between the Ipod and Aux-mod will be used? Is it a USB, RCA, etc?
Becuase I would like to use this Dension dock with an FM modulator temporarily until Overloads comes out if it is an RCA connection between the Ipod and Aux-mod. Catch my drift? Thanks
Ben

FYI, for those of you who monitor this forum for updates on this project. I received a reply to an email I sent directly to the developers, here it is --
We’re very close, but we’re working on it to finish it up at this point. It’s either work on the unit, or update the web pages. I’d rather finish first, and the have nothing but good news!
We’re getting there. Hopefully within two weeks we’ll have some boards ready.
Regards,
Eric

I can confirm, I got a sortlike reply from Eric 2 days ago.
"We’re expecting that the unit will be available by the end of the month.. providing I have enough time to finish it. We’re still very busy with testing and finishing things up in order to get it complete. When we are closer to actual release, we will release a few units on beta basis"
Looks like it's getting finally there, their website has also been updated.
