Custom Shift Boot

So I did a search and found ShiftStyle as the last person who made custom shift boots but he hasn't been active since 2010. Any ideas where I i might find someone who makes them? I'm looking for a perforated leather or soft suede with red stitching.

Look on ebay. Pic related, I'm very happy with mine. British seller, and worth the wait.

it was a bitch. Lots of stretching and shoe-glue and clamps and hours later, I was finally successful. I love it now that its in, I hated that rubber-fake leather vynyl crap feel on my elbow, but it was definitely not the easiest install

I got the **** today and i will have to say, GARBAGE!

It is 3 pieces that make up the ****, upper metal cap, center fabric and lower metal threading. It is way smaller than how the photo makes it look and less that of the stock one. The weight is 7oz per the seller and of course, half the weight or more than the stocker. Its going back for size discrimination and the fact that when you try to remove it, the 3 pieces unscrew so you have to man handle the lower part to get it to off.

Let me know how the boot works out for you and post pix during the process. Mine should be here shortly.

i bought this one the other day. i should have it by the end of the week, and ill let you know what i think. I went with this one because a friend had a similar one and it really dropped the height of the shifter. solid metal, so i wont run into the issue of separate pieces coming apart (ive had similar issues with other cars). no writing on it, so i can snug it down and not have to worry about lining up the numbers.

honestly the eBay one looks fine to me, though i understand that it may need a bit of modification. the redline one is nice as well, but its kind of like a soda machine that doesn't give change. if i put a $1 bill in or a $10 bill, im still going to get the same thing, going to have the same function, but one doesn't make much sense (at least at this point in my life).

got my boot on, eBay special. trimmed it a bit cut some slits for the little hook things and installed. it comes up higher that it would with the stock **** (the stock **** goes down further on the shift lever). it was under $9 shipped, and its $49 (not including shipping for the redline boots). i cant imagine the redline ones are 5+x nicer.

You do have to trim maybe 1in off the bottom so it fits tight around the ring. I did remove the top metal piece as it stopped the **** from being screwed down all the way and looks better IMO.

when you pull the center trim up its held in by 4 screws underneath

Not my photo but you can see what i mean here. I used nothing but the pressure of the ring to hold mine in place and it is fine.

if you bought the one like i did from ebay, its held on by a zip tie on the inside. cut the tie and pull it off.

Fits Mazda RX8 Gear Gaiter Shift Boot 2 Tone Black M Blue | eBay

Topgaiters is the seller, and I've had my blue leather boot on for two years now with no issue whatsoever. The color I wanted (solid blue with black stitch) wasn't on eBay so I emailed them and they made it with no issues.

I've found a pretty sweet shifter at Mazdaparts.com and I believe it's 220 grams
