Does anyone know if somone makes a dash storage pocket with a flip up door that would fit where the factory nav would normally go? I got a Mazda 6 loaner car from the dealer the other day, and it had just such a feature on top of the dash. Pretty handy I must say.

I had actually seen that in my searches, but it's hard to tell what exactly it is from those picks. In the first one it looks like it might be a storage pocket, but it's billed as a "nav holder" which leaves me wondering how one would mount the nav screen in there.

Maybe it's not meant to securely mount a nav screen, but rather just to hold an aftermarket Garmin, Tom-Tom type of unit?

nope its a swivel type screen mounting unit. It does securely mount a 7inch screen or similar. Used for carputer setups and such. There is no "storage bin" out at the moment... i do have an extra one of those dash pieces maybe i could fab up something lol...

But from the picture, it does look like there is a pocket of sorts that could be used for storing certain items so long as they weren't small enough to fall through the holes in the bottom. Right?

I have one I use with my CarPC setup it does have a small pocket that could be used for storage but it cost $385.95 bucks a steep price to pay for a little extra storage.

Although a dashboard glove box should be available some where for the RX8 as when I was at the dealer looking shopping for my 05 I sat in an 04 that did have a dashboard glove box.
