Here are some pics of the driver side box. The box is in yellow primer, almost ready to take a moulde of. The rotor grill will be painted silver. The box has some really nice lines. We put these lines in the box to make it stronger, and it looks cool. I out-lined the curves with a black marker so its easier to see. I will have the final pics soon.

The box can fit most 10" subs. Larger 10s like the W7 are too big.

saw this and had to chime in

being an installer my self, even though i cannot see the edited out price 4080 is asking, but I am in agreement that 150 is no where near what these boxes should go for. good fiberglass work like this, is a lot of hardwork and attention...

and if I am reading all the posts correctly, you guys would be getting a very high quality piece crafted by a pretty well known installer, Ainslie's past work speaks for themselves.

I wanted to build a box that would not take up too much space and look factory. Building a box to work with a sub the size of a W7 would be very large and I would prob. need to scratch the grill. I have installed the W7 since the original W7 training. I do not think it is a good sub. The W7 is large, heavy, takes up too much space, and is power hungry. The W3 is my favorite out of the JL line. It sounds awsome, is efficient, and does not require a huge box. W7 does not make sense. Is your RX8 charging system up to the task of 1000 plus watts that the W7 needs? If you need a large sub go with the W6. W7=waste of money.

OK, I am a stereo flunkie, but where would I wire a sub into an existing Bose sound system? Or is this only for a non Bose setup?

This box will work with both bose and non-bose. You will need to buy a amp to power the sub. The amp would get its signal from a stepdown converter that is wired to the speakers. I am sure someone on this site has done a DIY on amp installation.

What's the internal cubic footage, so we can figure the proper speaker? Some 10's can get by with 0.50 cubic feet, some need bigger for best sound.

I have the trunk liner, so this will not fit unless I take it out - right?

Yes,

You would more than likely have to cut out a portion of the the liner to allow for the sub to fit. The sub fits like a glove.

Once the final enclosure is complete we will take exact measurements with sand. I am estimating .85 cuft.

Something like that, but it has a rolled edge that would interfere. If I purchased your box, I would remove the liner, or cut it and modify it.

I do not want to say if the W6V2 will work until I actually hear the sub in my box. I am 99.9% sure because of the small air space requirement of the sub. The only other thing that I am unsure about is the unusual large speaker terminals on the W6V2. Wait one more week and I will let you know. BTW the W6V2 is a more desireable sub than the old V1.
