Did I just bork my head unit?

OK so here is the deal.. I went out to pull my head unit out of my '05 RX-8 in order to install an aftermarket iPod adapter. Getting the head unit out was no issue at all after finding the mysterious "hidden screw"..

However, once I plugged everything back in, the LED screen remains blank, and I get no audio. The buttons don't seem to do anything. The lights on the face turn on when I turn the headlights on, I can eject the CD or put one in. The fan control **** on the climate control works.. so it seems like it's getting power -- just that that nothing works on it excepting what is above.

I removed the iPod adapter and still had the same issue.

Checked all of the fuses, all seem in tact and can't see any wiring issues so no clue what the issue is. I've seen some other threads with others having the same issue but nobody ever seems to post what they did to fix it.

Any thoughts? Please? I've been poking around at this for a few hours and it's getting really frustrating.

Update, I did find a connector on the right of the faceplate (per another thread) and it was loose. I reconnected it and the display at least lights up now, though nothing else. pulled the fuse and am attempting to reset the radio to see if that helps.

Another update: After doing that, I can at least control the radio through the controls on the steering wheel -- change the radio station, cd tracks, volume. Thinking that the PCB may be cracked at this point. Brilliant. :s

Anyone know where I can pick one up for cheap? Or anyone have any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

This thread can be deleted/locked. I just bought a Metra kit and a single DIN stereo. Works great.
