Do you like the wireless remote for the 8?

Ok, maybe I am being to picky but....overall 8 is great!

But, I dislike the wireless remote and how the car reacts to it. Is this programmable in some way? Has somebody played with it?

In particular, when you lock the car, the button on the remote itself does not give the greatest tactitle feedback that it was pressed and it takes the car a second or so to flash its light. To see the flash, particularly during the day, you have to explicitly look at the front or rear of the car to confirm the light flashes and if you are not sure it did and "double lock" you get that rather loud horn beep to confirm. Sometimes I am paranoid and want to make sure my 8 is locked...

To compare, on my 4Runner, if I lock I get an immediate flash of the lights and a faint beep. If I double lock, I get the same thing. It just seems a lot less annoying.

Any comments? Have people experimented with changing some of this?

Thanks!

PS. I could also comment that a button the steering wheel saids "mode" and a button on the radio/AC panel saids "mode" (and not other buttons say mode) but those two buttons do not do the same thing...

PS. But please do understand, I think the 8 is a great car!

The Fob for our car sucks! It reeks of Ford. I also wish the alarm confirmation was not a full volume horn blast.

I agree! The confirmation that it's locked is really too loud. Short of cutting one of the 2 horn wires (thus disabling the loud function of the horn when you may really need it - ex. to keep someone from hitting you!), has anyone come up with a way to make the lock confirmation a bit less deafening?

Thanks!

Hahaha

Keep in mind that hundreds of people on this forum spent upwards of $100 and several hours of their time just to get the 05 pocket knife style key fob.
