Dumb MD Question

I'm probably going to be buying a new portable audio system in the next 3 months or so, and it's down to an iPod or Sony's MZ-N10 NetMD player. If I went with the latter, I'd probably end up getting the Minidisc player in my car at some point, and I just want to make sure that the discs recorded on a NetMD unit will work right with the player for the '8.

Like the title says, Dumb question, but I don't want to be SOL $850 later and wishing I'd gotten the iPod

I was considering a similar setup, with a Sony NetMD portable recorder, and the Mazda MD player. Everything I read at the time indicated that there would be no problems.

I ended up getting a Kenwood MusicKeg, though, so no MD for me.

shouldn't be a problem unless you use the MDLP compression on the netMD and try and play it in your rx-8 ... i'm not sure if the car unit supports MDLP.

Mazda MD should support MDLP... I checked the Jap site.

IMO... I think both is a nice idea. Should have a combo of MP3 (iPod with i-Tune and a Mp3 player for higher sound). Or a NetMD and MD player.

Should work out roughly the same price - isn't it. Both have adv and disadv. Both can listen in car and during sport.

I still think MD quality is better than MP3 *(when compare direct CD transfer to MD vs MP3 @ 192 kps)

iPod is the bomb. Just need aux input for the head unit. Will either be using Overload's cassette hack or waiting for aftermarket options.

I've got an IPAQ and am thinking the same way... It will fit nicely in the cup tray where it can draw power.
