Engine Bay Lights?

Engine Bay Lights?
Just wondering if anyone has put lights under the hood? I searched around a bit and didn't come up with much, but I'm sure someone has done this before!
I find a lot of times when someone wants to see under the hood its either dim out or getting dark so it'd be nice to be able to add some lighting in there. I also find that a lot of the time when I want to check something in there its dark and I forget to grab my flashlight, I'm also impatient and can't usually wait till the morning.
Is this safe? Is there a power source other than the battery to tap that is always active? Silly idea altogether? Maybe I'm just fishing for weekend projects before the winter? :/

Been eying those up for while too. They do look pretty good! As for the engine bay lights I just have to decide if I want red (to mach the rest of my lights) or white since my covers are all red and red light might be little overkill there.

I'm going ahead with this now, but I'm going to make my own. I like how bright that one was but I didn't like having a single cluster or that the button is right by them. I also couldn't decide between red and white, so I'm putting in both!
Theory is to still to wire from the fuse box and generally have the same set up except the switches will be mounted near the headlights out of sight (easy access) and I'm going to embed the LED's into the hood liner. That should keep them nice and hidden until they're on and leave me with a clean engine bay.
Going to have ~12 normal red along the base of the hood liner (closest to the windshield) and ~4 on each side of the fenders (maybe 10 and 5). Then 4 super-bright white at the front of the hood pointing down to the engine.
Cost breakdown:
20 x Normal Red LEDs = $10.00
4 x Super-bright White LEDs = $14.00 <---damn'd expensive buggers!
2 x Mini Rocker switches = $9.00
Several meters of wire = $6.00
Fuse holder = $4
Total: $43.00 CDN
Costs about the same, but I get everything where I want it. I'll post picks when I do it this weekend (maybe DIY it?).
