Entire system question?

Entire system question?
Well first off I plan or ripping out EVERYTHING bose related except the stock HU. Since I don't want to ruin the look of my dash and lose my steering wheel controls, I want to put an entire new system in my car.
My question is whether or not I could use a line converter to input into an EQ and use the outputs on the EQ to run the amps? I'm personally not a big fan of line converters but would it work for what I want to do, and if so how noticeable would the loss of quality be as compared to a good HU with 4V+ pre-outs?

That's not what I'm asking. Everyone else uses the converter for an amp, I want to know if it will work with an EQ.
Unless my search function is broken, there are no topics involving this issue. Thanks.

A line converter will produce the standard 1Vp-p signal that would go to the RCA inputs on an Amp or a Equalizer, from a speaker level signal (the output of the stock amps). This will work fine either way. If you are looking to remove the stock amps and replace them, you will have to be tapping into the balanced input of the stock amps, and changing that to an unbalanced signal for YOUR amp. I'm not sure if there are any devices that do this easily, but i'm sure there are plenty of people on the forum that have done just that.
