factory alarm shock sensor problem

I'm thinking he got a kit without the diode. Mazda has some of these kits floating
around (I found out last week). I'm talking with him to straighten it out. But I'm
almost 100% positive he got an old kit.
BTW, I have diode kits so if that's the case, he's solid.

No wonder why he was surprised when I mentioned in what position he had the diode in!
Not 100% convinced how the sensor would operate without the diode in there, guessed I'd have to look at the wiring all over again and actually see what it would do or not do.
13bturbofc.............didn't you spot something missing when you read the instructions? It clearly talks about the diode.

maybe if i knew what diode your talking about id be able to say if it has one or not..lol what does it look like? and ill read over the instructions again but i swear it didn't say anything about any diode..

ok wow.. i just did some searching and found this http://rotaryinsider.com/rx8-58.html
my sensor most definitely did not come with this diode nor did the instructions state anything about installation of the diode so... this must be the problem

Yeah, sorry...I didn't have time last night to scan in the directions.
Not sure the diode missing would create your kind of issue, but it definitely makes it different.
I have an 05 and I have for sure have the diode.
So I guess your instructions didn't look anything like the directions in the link you posted?
Anyway, if you are sent the diode, make damn sure you install it(wire it) in the correct direction.
I'll try to scan in my directions just in case you need them later on.

yea i must say this is probably the best experience I've had with any business. we need more people like this in the automotive field. ill be bringing you more business in the near future and i will definitely refer you to anyone who is looking for items that you sell.
i received the diode this afternoon and im confident that not having this diode is whats causing my problem. in the instructions it even describes my exact problem is the reason they made this diode. Thanks

Sorry to jack this thread a bit, but since it has the attention of RosenthalMazda....
I am still confused on adding a shock sensor to my 2006 with the Advanced Keyless (credit card).
Quick question: Will it work? (my dealer says 'no', and online leads me to believe the same).
If not, are there any other solutions without going to a standalone alarm system?
TIA.

The interior lights flashing/with click noise was a well known problem for those who got the 04'-05' shock sensor upgrade. Mazda found a fix and implemented it on all of the 06' and up sensors and made an "upgrade" available to the people who had the issues. Yes, the newer sensors work on the older models (not sure about 09').
I have an 06' with Keyless entry and the shock sensor upgrade and it works just fine. The only time I get the lights/clicking noise is when my doors are not shut all the way.

I have an 04 with DIY shock sensor upgrade for years and having TAP TAP TAP sound.
I didn't know that something was wrong......
I though it was early warning before alarm goes off.
Any pix and link that I can order the missing diode?
Thanks.

Thanks for pointing this out, had the same issue with clicking. Luckily, I had the diode in my kit, but didn't even know what it was for. Thanks!
Edit: The diode is a PITA to hook up. But it works perfectly.
Edit: Make sure when installing the diode, that you follow the instructions. They're a little hard to understand, but incorrect wiring can short out the shock sensor module, and it will need to be replaced. Make sure when looking for the brown wire to cut, you look real hard, because there was an orange wire right next to it, and theyre very similar in color. Also, when you wire in the diode, make sure the side with the sticker on it, (The longer wire) is attatched to the upper end of the wire going into the remote alarm, while the short end is going into the lower wire harness.
Also, make sure that the wire splitters don't have loose wires coming out from the ends. With this info, you should be able to do this diode rewire easily. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!@!!%#
Edit: Ran into a problem where my alarm was not functioning correctly. After some trial and error, I realized that we do not get neat dashboard warnings that the trunk is open. My trunk was not closed all the way. Shut your trunk hard before you do this :D

I have exactly the same issue, having just installed a shock sensor (ebay purchase) which came without the diode. Is it still possible to acquire the diode? I tried the finishlineperformance link above but it appears the part is not available on that site. Does anyone know the spec of the diode so I can go buy one at Radio Shack and install it?
I have unplugged the shock sensor for now.
