Are factory speakers covered under warrantee? (BOSE)

The passenger side door speaker 'crackles' when I turn my radio up past 10 or so (which is not very loud at all). It’s even worst on songs with a lot of bass.

I have the BOSE setup but its not the little triangle speaker near the window, its the speaker found on the door towards the bottom.

Now, if I take this to the dealer... will I have to pay for this out of my own pocket or are they covered under warrantee?

I have a 04 with 13k miles.

Thanks in advance!

Hey, I have an 04 with about 14k on it and i just started noticing the same thing about a week ago. If you take it in, let me know what happens. (I also installed XM, so they might void any radio warranty on me. I hardwired the power into the cig lighter.)

Have you guys removed your door panel yet?
Might be a loose screw or wire cable...
Removed mine last week and it is very easy.
A buddy of mine had his checked for a rattle, and they actually made it worse!
Forgot to install clips, screws, ext.

Its not really a rattle... I can tell its the speaker but I will look into it anyway. I'm due for an oil change pretty soon anyway... I'll have them look at it then. Thanks for the info.

(on a side note)
How much do dealers usually charge for an oil change? I dont have free maintnance. thanks

dealers will usually hose you for oil changes. (and anything else non-warranty) prob 40-50 bucks for something you can do yourself for about 15.

Good luck getting it fixed.

My car has the same problem, and it's been to the dealership no less than a half dozen times, and they've yet to fix it. They CLAIM to have done a variety of things, but the rattling only gets worse. Mine started doing it at around 10k miles.

Anybody here have any tips? A car that costs this much shouldn't sound like crap.

i had a blown driver side speaker and they replaced it as quickly as possible. unfortunately, i think it is blown again. and my tweeters crackle a lot. i just need to replace it all. but the dealer should replace it under warranty.

all speakers should be covered under your new car warranty as long as they are unmodified and original...

I just paid $24.95 here in Southern California for my first oil change, so it should cost you about the same!

If I went in for the same thing would they void my warranty because I added a sub and amp?

Whatever problems you guys have with those BOSE systems--get them taken care of ASAP under warranty...trust me...you DON'T want to have to pay for that overpriced $h*t yourselves. My FD and both my Millenia Ss had problems with the BOSE--thats specifically why I didn't want BOSE in my 8.
