Post Few questions about audio setup

Alright, I am not the most savvy when it comes to my car audio, so I figured I could post it in here because I am sure y'all know more then I do lol. I am looking to replace the speakers/radio in my car and after talking with a few friends of mine I think I may have decided on a setup, but I figured I would ask some other 8 owners and see what they thought/get suggestions on what else I should get.

Ok here is what I am looking at so far. I am not real sure what brand sub I should get, but I know I want to get 2 10" subs for the trunk. That is one area I could really use some input on.

Radio: Clarion NX409
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020NX40...212&tab=review

Tweeters: Infinity Kappa 10.9t (4)
3500 Hz Frequency
RMS Power - 50 Watts
Max Power - 150 Watts
2 ohm
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108109T...9t.html?tp=107

Speakers: Infinity Kappa 692.9I
25,000 Hz Frequency
RMS Power - 110 Watts
Max Power - 330 Watts
2 ohm
http://signature.crutchfield.com/S-4...pa-692-9i.html

Amp: Infinity Kappa Five 12000 Watt 5 Channel 4 ohms: 50 Watts x 4 Chan + 200 Watts x1 Chanel
2 ohms: 75 Watts x 4 Chan + 300 Watts x 1 Channel
(Bridged) 4 ohms: 150 Watts x 2 Chan + 200 Watts x 1 Channel
Max Power - 1200 Watts (0-12 dB Bass Boost)
(Couldn't find a link to this item itself, just a eBay link)
http://cgi.ebay.com/Infinity-KAPPA-F...item414c0cc991

Sub: Haven't picked one out yet, I would really appreciate some input on what kind of sub would hit hard and sound good.

I would appreciate any input on what I am looking at. I want a setup that will sound amazing and I want to be able to turn on some bass and turn a few heads whenever I get the feeling. I was curious though, would I need to upgrade my alternator for this?

After I figure out what I get I will be sure and take a few pictures and show it off

200W for two 10" subs? And you're looking to turn heads with bass? Check out the Kicker ZX700.5 amp. More power all around and no more money. Many people on this board, including myself, use it.

You'll need dual 2 ohm subs, whichever ones you pick. I use Kicker Comp VRs. No real complaints. The Alpine Type-R or S line is great too.

Do you have the Bose system?

Yea I have the Bose but I want something a little louder. I hadn't picked out a sub yet, that's one area that I was curious about. I like the sound of the kappa line for when I don't want to slowly make myself go deaf lol. How many channels is that amp though?

I understand you being partial to Infinity. They make some nice gear. Have you thought about the Infinity Perfect line? Atleast the subwoofers?

So what's your plan with the 5-channel amp when it comes to the front speakers/tweeters? You realize you can't just juice the stock Bose speakers with an aftermarket amp right?

Yea I am going to replace the speakers/tweeters with Infinity Kappas. That's the main area I am wanting to replace.

Are you using 10" or 12" subs? As for the box, I can probably make it myself or get one made by a friend who will help me install all this. That isn't really a problem to make lol

Yea I was planning on running 2 10"s for it. I couldn't even imagine how much work it would be to put those 18" subs in there.... I can't imagine how hard they hit either lol

Fi btls man I'm gonna run like 5kwatts each sub I'm taking out the whole back seats and I'm gonna change the set up gonna go completely custom waste of money I kno but the sky o's the limit if that's what ur heart desires

I used to run 2 powerbass xxx subs 10" in a custom ported box sounded amazing but I blow them cuz I was new and didn't know what I was doing but if u got the right wattage and everything going to the car ur gonna have something nice

My suggestion I'm running stock battery still and my system is banging everyday
if I can make a suggestion it would be do the big3 before anything it would help alot very noticeable actually

I used an old DIY for tapping a sub into the Bose and added a single 10" Rockford Punch2 with a Rockford 140w bridged AMP, nothing special but I've been told you can hear it bump as I pull up to friends houses (as in they are inside and can hear it).

This may b a little late but u should think of a way better stereo than clarion. The car music is not just about make the louder noise but the nicer, so get quality if you want ur 8 to sound awesome instead of like 1 of those PIMP which u can hear every bolt on the dawn car from 5 blocks down. Personally I went trough 4 stereos already and so far I'm happy with Alpine, if u want good subs and amps JL is the way to go. This is just my personal opinion but whoever said that has a bad *** new system with less than $1000.00 thats some BS

I am going to run the music off my ipod/phone so I doubt it will matter that much.... The Clarion should be able to work for what I need it for...

Yea I totally agree with the fact of being able to put in a good system for under $1000 but Infinity is decently priced. It is probably going to only run me about $1100-$1250 to run speakers/wires but the dynomat is what is going to get expensive lol.

I like the Bose but I want something a little better, not just the ability to beat the block down. That's the reason that I am replacing all my speakers inside. To me, I see no reason to just add/replace 1 or 2 things when you can have the ability to do it all and make it sound that much better.
