Final stereo system pics

Since it's winter and I have the 8 torn apart doing mods I thought I would finally "build" my system into the car for that custom look. Actually....the 8's trunk is setup nice for a custom amp rack with false floor. Last summer I installed 2 Rockford Fosgate 10" subs into a custom box made for the 8 from a company called Z Enclosures off Ebay. I only paid $130 for the box! I installed car audio for a number of years and let me tell you...this guy from Z Enclosures builds one of the nicest boxes I have have seen in that price range! I also installed a RF 300 watt mono amp and a 1/2 farad cap alog with Streetwires cable and a David Navone LOC. At the time I purchased the box I had Z Enclosures send me a large piece of the same carpet they used on the box (matches OEM trunk carpet and sides almost perfect). Well...I installed everything but just now got around to finishing it. Basically, I lifted out the trunk carpet and removed the padding under the recess in the trunk. I screwed in a 1/4" piece of MDF to mount everything to. I replaced the stock carpet and mounted the amp and cap. Next, I got a large piece of carboard and cut it to the contours of the trunk sides. I then started to piece the carboard together to what I wanted the floor to look like. I then traced it to another piece of 1/4" MDF and cut it out using a jigsaw. It was carpeted with the piece of carpet from the box. I used a 1/8" piece of lexan to show off the equipment. I also mounted 2 12" blue neon tubes to the sides of the window to highlight it. There is another 12" blue neon tube mounted underneath the rear deck to highlight the subs. I also have 2 cooling fans, 1 intake and 1 exhaust, mounted into the recess to keep the amp cool. All in all I think it turned out really good and it didn't break the bank!

nice work, very subtle, clean, like the gray with the subs etc. How's it sound? Are you still running factory highs or?

The RF subs match the Ti Gray perfect! That was one reason I chose them. I am running the full stock Bose setup and it sounds very good. The 10's give the stock system that extra bass that seems to be missing. I am running about 400 actual watts which gives a good bit of kick. I don't like a whole lot of bass so this is adequate for me. The whole system cost me less than $500 bucks and I am very happy with the way it tuned out.

You did exactly what I am doing to my amp. I've got it mounted on the floor in that location but with no ventilation as of yet, thus it overheats on long trips, thanks to the wonderfully located muffler.

I'm putting in a false floor with an intake and exhaust fan, along with plexiglass window with red neons, since my calipers are red, I'm going to go with a red theme.

You did EXACTLY what I'm doing. Now I know how it's going to turn out! Great!

Very Clean. Nice Job!! I have this box also, and love it. May have to change it around a little though since everyone is starting to get it.
