Not too knowledgable on wiring stuff, but I knew it could probably be done, and it sounds quite easy. Thanks for the help

it really is quite simple, they will come on whenver the ground is properly grounded and the power wire has power. the hardest part is finding the wire that only has power during the times you want them on. (i.e. the coutesy lights, parking lights, etc.) or, find a wire that has power only while the car is running and run a wire from that to a switch then to the footwell lights, then when you want them on, flip the switch and BAM-O!

So if I find a wire that I can tap into, (say its a light bulb wire) does that mean the light bulb i hacked into will also be on the switch? I'm a newbie with the wiring **** like I said earlier. Thanks in advance.

Resurrecting thread, I just got my 8 two days ago and am looking for some nice appearance mods that I can work on until I manage to save up the money for performance parts.

I was wondering though, what colors do you all think go best with the orange/tan accented seats? I've sort of liked the idea of an orange/black combination car but that's partly because I have a feeling the red or blue will clash with the seats.

Thanks in advance. :D

1. How do you like them? - love them
2. Did you install yourself? - yes
3. Were they hard to install? - nope
4. Is the color of the lights red? - white, got v-links from VLEDs since i missed RR's groupbuy

mine comes on with courtesy lights/dome lights. might add a set of red that goes on with the running lights.

I did my own and wired it to the parking/headlights so that it comes on when I turn on my parking lights or headlights. Threw in cut off switch in case I choose to turn them off. There is 2 DIY's on here one wired to the door lights that fade after 10 sec.

This one is wired to the parking/headlights (you don't need to have the OEM kit)

I used these instructions and just wired two sets of LED's together, you can buy them anywhere, Autozone, Vleds, etc.

Cost me around $25.00

Neither one of those show how to wire to the courtesy lights, but I figured it out. Ill probably write up a diy when the rest of my lights come in.

Anyone know what's the bulb type in the OEM footlamp kit? Can it be changed to aftermarket LED bulb?

Just cut the wire and splice in an LED.

I just installed my footwell LED lights literally 5 minutes ago. Very easy to install. The only problem I had was figuring out where stick them.....the lights have 3m tape on them and there is really no place to stick them, so i just picked a spot and so far they look good.
