So qh thinks he might know how to get video-in without external hardware? I hope this isn't a hoax cause I was planning on ordering the nav switcher very soon...

I'm feeling about 75% confident on this right now. I just need to get the PIE adaptor to get the TV screen.

Question though. Does the TV screen go away when you turn the radio back on?

I'm confused. Why wouldn't you want to explain your idea to someone who already has PIE installed and can test it for you (like truemagellen or djseto) before you spend money on the PIE adapter only to find it doesn't work? :

the tv tuner from the schematics does the conversion

I have an extra nav unit and from what I can tell there is no video level input...the jdm tv tuner simply uses a pass through point into the monitor

I could be wrong though so Jerky is right start discussing bud it will make this more interesting and we can help you more (maybe even prevent damage of your car )
