How do you know it's a piece of garbage if you've never seen it before??

When I had my Lotek pod it was great. Fitment is spot-on (if you can handle cutting the dash, which is no big deal) and it matches the OEM dash texture 99.99%. It does go over-top some of the portion but it's hardly noticeable.

how often do you plan to look at the gauges?
Coolant Temp remains fairly constant (+ or - 20 degrees when switching from highway to street)
Oil pressure just requires an ocassional quick glance since that thing is reading all over the place depending on rpm

Oil temp once warm will not fluctuate much in street drving. (+ or - 10-15 degrees)

If this were an FI car and you were having to closely monitor AFR or Boost, that would be a different story. This gauge setup is designed to give more accurate readings then what Mazda provides while not having to stare at gauges all the time. These are used mostly for quick reference and you should not have to be monitoring all the time.

Quick glances at stop lights and a quick look on the freeway is really no different then turning your head to check a blind spot.

I've got the Racing Beat pod like Jedi, only my gauges aren't as cool. I got Autometer Sport-Comp electricals (oil temp, oil pressure and EGT). It was a biotch to fit them, and I had to make a custom stay for them to work, but I think it will look sweet.
I haven't installed the pod yet, but I'll post pics when I do. If anyone is interested in the dimensions of my custom stay bracket, let me know. All it costs is $4.99 (Ace Hardware) and a few power tools.

Yes the gauges I know are Jedi's thing. But the pod, is it Lotek?

Swoope, that one is different. I saw that pic ,,,and don't really like how high the gauges sit up.

Here are pics of my Racing Beat pod with Autometer gauges:

this pic shows how much they stick out from the front:

the Autometer plastic mounting brackets won't all fit with the RB pod, so I had to fab this stay bracket out of aluminum flat bar:
