Getting a new sub..few questions

So im planning on getting the Alpine TypeR 10" peak 1800W, 600RMS (Running only one) K so few questions.

1. Should I soundproof the car? Will it be alot of rattling?
2. Anyone have any comments bout the sub?
3. Im running it with the stock unit and bose speakers. Will this overpower everything? Should I downgrade on the sub selection?

Any other tips will be great. This is my first time ever getting into a system.

Thanks guys

Sound deadening is used to keep road noise to a minimum. Not to combat rattles. Hunting the rattles down and stopping the panels from vibrating via cardboard wedges/screws/etc will yield far better results for next to no money.

Great sub. Which amp are you using? Which box are you using?

No. Just roll with it until you can upgrade all the interior speaker too. :D

You should just stop now until you plan on replacing everything. It's just a huge hassle (especially if it's your first time dealing with a sound system) adding anything onto the bose system unless you are replacing the head unit and whole front setup also.

Just my two cents though.

i have a single sub set up i have this sub with a boss amp 1100 watt mono block amp and it is loud enough.... its a nice set up to have with the bose system adds that extra bump that it kinda dont have... you dont notice how much the bose system needs the bass until you have it in their... i have it hooked up thru a loc tapped into the back speakers... after the amp...oh and a optima red top helps alot ...just that you will notice dimming in lights with a smaller battery...thats why i had to upgrade....

this is the sub

The setup in my sig likely pulls 3 times the juice of that Boss amp. WalMart battery and stock alternator without a single bit of dimming. Sounds like you have other issues.

Oh and you'll want the dual 2-ohm version of the Type-R
