Got Bass ?

Just installed this last night and JL Rocks. My Wife said the whole house was shaking. I have the bass control mounted up front. The ability to adjust Bass to different types of tunes is awesome. The olny downside of JL is cost, pricey for sure. I'm going to have to fine tune the amp I got it pretty close but want it perfect. Anyone have tips on tuning an amp?

Very nice! How much did you sink into this? And, did you do the install yourself, or have someone do it for ya?

I've also got the 500/1. I used the recommended amp settings found on this page...http://www.jlaudio.com/amps/pdfs/SYS_5.pdf and I only messed with the gain, it sounds great.
I see you used the remote turn on wire. I tried the signal sensing turn on but it was crap. (it wouldn't turn on or turned on with car off!, couldn't get the sensitivity on it right so I also used the remote turn on wire.)

2 10" JL w6v2's. Purchased with the enclosure (prowedge model http://www.jlaudio.com/enclosures/CVS210RGW6v2.html). One of the few boxes that could fit perfectly. I didn't want to go the custom box route.

Adrian where did you get that box your amp is in? thats tight I also had problems when using the auto turn on with this setup I think it has something to do with the head units output section.

It's a Mazda accessory. Get it thru your dealer or order it from Rosenthal mazda for cheap, like I did. I also got the cargo tray from them. Very fast shipping.

cargo tray

The organizer is made of hard plastic and is made to fit perfectly into the cargo tray. Drilled holes for the wires to pass thru and ran all the wiring underneath the tray. I was about to build a wooden box and plexiglass until I discovered they sold these.

Here's a couple more pictures. All pictures can be found here.

I had bass in my car, but they started flopping around and made slime all over the trunk so i had to toss them out.

Yeah, they wouldnt boom either!

Seriously though, I have 2 kicker solo 10" in a sealed box. with a 1200watt amp. It's a cheap amp tho, I'm thinking of getting a JL, but they are so expensive for the powere I need to drive the kickers in that enclosure.

Ya, I plan to make myself a box. Hopefully 2 12" kicker L7's will fit in the back of the trunk, I want the subs to face away from me, and I'm planning on making the box vented on the back, this way i can pull down the center part in the back seat, and feel the boom

Adrian are you tapping the rear deck speakers ? and if so are you using line level converters or going staight into the amp. I was wondering if a high quality line level converter would be a cleaner signal or if the JL setup on this amp is as good as it gets. Mark

Tapped into the rear speakers and I'm not using line level converters. Don't know if using converter would improve the sound.

Here's my bass setup. Little too much amp, but that's all I had, I figure if and when I blow the 10W6V2, I'll slap a W7 in there. Enough air space for it. Bass **** to the right of DSC button
