Got lows, almost got highs, must be Bose

Following an older tread:
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...er+replacement
I orderered the Image Dynamics NX30s, they should be delivered by Thursday....
They are supposed to be a replacement tweeter for the Bose.
Parts are ready to be installed; pictures of the finished install will follow when done.
For those who have installed them, did you use the flush swivel mount that comes with said tweeters?
(Don’t mind to cut the "sail" panel to fit them)

I thought it was:

No highs, no lows, must be BOSE.

There in...
Used the swivel mount that came with them and need to play around with the angels of the tweeters.
Honestly, highs are what I was missing after 4080's sub-box
And that is fixed for now.

Sound is completely different, meaning you can actually hear high frequencies.
If pointed at you it almost hurts!

Yes some cutting was needed, Bose grill is gone as is the mount that kept the Bose in place.
(For 119$ it is definitely worth it, If you have the Bose and don't want to rip it out)

Tweeters come with no x over, used the Bose one and works great.
(It’s an inline x over)

Yes - they don't have a crossover, just a capacitor in-line.

So could you just replace the stock tweeters with these or would it make more sense to get a cross over

If you want to improve the base stereo, it is not worth to only replace the tweeters. The stock front 6x8 speakers are crap. You'd be much better off with installing a good set of component speakers.
Don't waste your time to do the tweeters only. If you want to do the least amount of work, get a set of 6x8 component speakers such as the Infinity 6800cs or there is one by Rockford as well - probably other manufacturers too. Get a set that is very effective and with the 6x8 you don't even need to create an adapter plate, it's direct drop-in.

Image Dynamics has a component system as well that includes the Tweeters I used,
(It will not be a direct drop in, but with some handwork it should fit)

any one that has the infinity tweeters (1") .. ae you able to to just pop off the grill so you can still mount it and make it look stock behind the bose grill? i want to upgrade these pretty badly, the 2 10's in the trunk drown out any highs. i dont want it to look custom tho.
